Twas the night before Christmas, and all through the house
Not a creature was stirring, not even a mouse.
Miss Scarlett was nestled all snug in her bed…again!
While visions of Ambien danced in our heads.
When out from the monitor there arose such a chatter,
I sprang from the bed to see what was the matter!
When, what to my wondering eyes should appear,
But a wide-a-wake Scarlett, our sweet little dear…what the heck!
With father up, so lively and quick,
I knew in a moment that he soon would be sick!
He shouted, Now Scarlett! Now Scarmar! Now Marlett and Mookie!
You should be sleeping our sweet little Pookie!
All bundled and binked, from her head to her foot,
Her dreams were all tarnished and ours were caput.
Her eyes-how they twinkled! Her dimple how merry!
Her cheeks were like roses, her nose like a cherry!
Her droll little mouth was drawn up like a bow,
All the while saying its time to play, don’t you know!
She sprang from her crib with delight and a squeal
And away we both walked to go get her a meal.
How we love our dear Scarlett, our friends and our family
And ask that for Christmas could you please send a nanny?!
